Lissa McGrath is a Navy wife of 10 years living in the San Diego area with her husband, Chris, and five year old daughter, Rowan. Together they have survived 12 deployments with the help of her daughter’s Hug-A-Hero doll. Lissa is a freelance writer and editor; columnist for Family magazine (distributed throughout the commissaries worldwide); author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Life as a Military Spouse (Alpha, 2008) and three eBay-related books. Lissa loves being able to help other families with the challenges of day-to-day military life as well as the additional challenges associated with deployments. Lissa loves to read, take her daughter to kid’s museums, and generally enjoys being a parent.
