Tom Townsend (Chief Technology Officer) Tom has extensive leadership experience in technology and operations with numerous private and public companies as well as the U.S. Government.
He was most recently the VP of Information Technology for a Tampa based technology company; New Homes Realty had an extensive online media presence with over a million monthly visitors. The company launched one of the first real estate web sites on the Internet in 1994, and was a full-service online real estate company that uniquely coupled lead generation and online media with a national sales network. At it’s height the company serviced over 500 Real Estate agents and their Brokers, and had over 100 web sites. Tom was instrumental in updating the infrastructure and ensuring that the company’s software development efforts were fully documented to enable its M & A goals which led to a successful sale of the company to Lending Tree in 2008.
His vast experience spans over twenty-five years and ranges from applications development, operations management, project/program management, network infrastructure and process re-engineering with fortune companies such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls and Synopsis in addition to start-up companies TNB Technologies and TransDataNet. Throughout his career he has been highly successful in delivering initiatives which drive growth and productivity.
Tom is an Electronics Engineer with a passion for Video and New Media. He is the owner of Virtual Interactive Systems, (a full service creative multimedia production company, located in the Greater Tampa Bay Florida community of New Port Richey).
Tom is also a 16 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served on active duty in the 1980′s as a Data Systems Technician and Technical Trainer on the Trident Submarine program. Later he joined the U.S. Naval Reserves and served as an Intelligence Officer on overseas assignments. Tom is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and knows firsthand the difficulties military families with small children face, with long term deployments away from home.
