In memory of Lt Robert (Bart) Fletcher, his parents, Jack and Ginny Luther are holding a golf tournament in memory of him. They would like military-affiliated non-profit organizations to benefit from their organization. This is a great way to keep his spirit alive.

OHAH Celebrates Month of the Military Child – April 2011

April is designated as the Month of the Military Child, underscoring the important role military children play in the armed forces community. The Month of the Military Child is an opportunity to recognize military children and youth for their heroism, character, courage, sacrifices and continued resilience.
For all of us at OPERATION Hug-A-Hero, this entire month is a time to work a little harder and aim a little higher in the hopes that we can put more Hug-A-Hero dolls into the arms of children who are missing their mommies or daddies due to deployment.
There are 1.7 million American children and youth under 18 with a parent serving in the military and about 900,000 with one or both parents deployed multiple times.
These numbers are staggering and we have a long way to go to reach our goal of gifting a Hug-A-Hero doll to every military child, regardless of need.
We will only get there with your help. Honor a military child this month. A $25 donation is all it takes for us to provide a Hug-A-Hero doll to a deserving child. Once you make your donation, tell a friend or a co-worker and invite them to match your donation.
Most importantly, if you know a military child, pull her aside some time this month, get eyeball to eyeball, and let that child know that you are proud of her and her family’s service to our country. You will feel great…you may even get some goosebumps. We promise.
